The Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) plans to support research and development work as well as additional funding measures to implement the National Development Plan for Electric Mobility as part of 'Electric Mobility: Positioning the New Value-added Chain (ELECTRO POWER)'. Emphases here are broader questions of electric mobility such as the linkage of the newly developed value-added chain's individual elements in the production workflow as well as safety questions. In the process, funding measures along the entire value chain in the area of vehicle construction, power train technology, battery design and integration, energy management and electric mobility concepts testing in practice are taken into account. In particular, recommendations of the National Platform for Electric Mobility (NPE) and external experts are drawn upon while deciding on funding areas.
Since innovation and employment impulses originate especially from start-ups, such start-ups are particularly desirable in connection with the BMWi's project funding. The federal government's high-tech start-up fund offers support here.
The experts' meeting was held on December 5, 2011. Proposals recommended for funding have been notified.
